State Championship Preview: 6A

The 6A East battle for the state championship will kick off the week end of champions tomorrow at 10:00 AM. 6A East Champions Jonesboro Hurricanes will take on the Bombers from Mountain Home who finished 3rd in the 6A East.
An unlikely match up with Mountain Home finishing the season, 10-19 including their streak of 3 wins in the 6A State Tournament. Jonesboro has been steady all year earning a first round bye, however they were matched up with perineal power Benton, with their roster loaded with talent 7 players signing NLI’s to play at the next level.
That is great thing about play off baseball its unpredictable and everyone in the tournament has an even chance to win it all.
Mountain Home will pitch 2016 Ryan Czantowski the recent Connors State commit. He has been steady for them all year with good numbers keeping opponents off balance and his team in the game. He locates his fastball 86-89 mph with an above average breaking ball thrown 72-74 mph. He has not received much run support in his starts, this season but the bats seem to be hot now average better than 5 runs per game in the state tournament.
Jonesboro has been steady all season long, limiting mistakes and playing fundamental baseball. The Hurricanes are led by 2017 MIF Will Batson. Batson has been as consistent as a short stop as you can find and a catalyst for them offensively. Coach Mark Dobson will be looking to lead his team to their second state title in 4 years.

Baseball is a game of consistency, I am picking Jonesboro to win the 6A State Title as they have been the more consistent performer over the entire season. Mountain Home is dangerous with the way they have played of late, but I just see Jonesboro taking advantage of every mistake Mountain Home makes and winning the game.
