Team Arkansas Future Games Game 1 Recap

Team Arkansas in Game 1 of the 2023 Future Games wins 7-1 verse Team Utah. We highlight the performances from today below with the prospects who provided the fireworks from the game. 

 

Dillon Askew LHP / 1B / Rogers Heritage , AR / 2025

Rankings  StateRank: 21 / POS: 3

Clean 2 innings showing 4 pitch mix with repeated delivery. Askew ran his FB up to 86 with control in the zone in his two innings of work.

Jackson Estes LHP / OF / North Little Rock , AR / 2025

Rankings  StateRank: 11 / POS: 1

Estes showed a control with feel for breaking ball in the zone in his 2 innings of work. The fastball played up in the zone forcing swing and miss at the top of the zone.

Cade Miller RHP / 1B / Rogers Heritage, AR / 2025

Rankings  StateRank: 31 / POS: 9

Heavy sink and slide in his 2 innings of work. Up to 87 with the FB and showed command of a swing and miss slider.

Drew Gartman SS / Valley View, AR / 2025

Rankings  StateRank: 17 / POS: 6

Gartman went 2 for 3 scoring a run in the first inning. Simple approach that produced multiple opposite field hits in game 1.

Grant Karnes RHP / OF / Greenwood, AR / 2025

Rankings  StateRank: 22 / POS: 8

Karnes showed why he is a two way talent in Game 1. A double in the first scoring two as he went 1-3 with two hard contacts in game 1 and ran his fastball up to 87 in a clean inning of work off the bump.

 

 

 

Broc Mattox 1B / 3B / Benton, AR / 2025

Rankings  StateRank: 14 / POS: 1

Broc has power and it was on display in game 1. A big 420 foot grand slam put Team Arkansas up big. Broc also added a walk in game 1.

 

 

 

Walt Jones SS / 2B / Ashdown , AR / 2025

Walt had a big day in the field and at the plate, Going 1-2 with a loud single and making several difficult plays defensively. 

 

 

 

Shaun Cover 3B / 3B / Conway, AR / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 4 / POS: 1

Shaun as one of the younger players in the event produced an oppo double in Game 1 to go with a single and a run scored. Physical for a '26, Cover has power potential looming in the near future.

 

 

 

Landon Carter SS / 2B / Sylvan Hills, AR / 2025

Rankings  StateRank: 10 / POS: 3

Athletic and twitchy, Carter plays with high energy. Carter hit two balls hard in Game 1 going 1-2 with a double, stolen base, walk, and a run scored. Carter also showcased his arm on a double cut with an in game relay throw to nab a runner trying to score.
