Team Effort Propels Wapahani to Victory

Muncie, IN----Wapahani travelled to take on a depleted Yorktown team who had a couple of players out of the lineup due to minor injuries.  Wapahani showed no mercy on the Tiger scoring 13 runs on 15 hits.  All nine players in the starting lineup for the Raiders reached base and six Raiders had at least one RBI. The biggest offensive threats for Wapahani were; senior Jon Keesling ( 3-3, 1RBI,2B),  junior Casey Jones (3-5, 3RBI’s), and junior Ryan Estep (2-3, 3B).

Yorktown kept pace with the high powered Raiders offense for the first three innings and scored runs on Waphani errors. The fourth run came off the bat of junior Kameron Kennedy who doubled in the gap scoring senior Scott Russell, but that was all the Tigers could push across.  Jon Keesling pitched six solid innings to pick up the win for the Raiders.

Final: Wapahani 13, Yorktown 4

Key Players:

Wapahani

Ryan Estep (2013): Good frame along with good bat control and setup. He’s an interesting player to keep an eye on.  Estep played left field for the Raiders.

Cody Roach (2013): A 6’2 catcher with a quick release. Roach had consistent in game pop times of 2.07-2.15.

Hayden Woodard (2013): An infielder with a good set up and approach at the plate. Woodard showed good pop in his left handed swing.

Yorktown

Austin Stout (2013): He’s a 6’0 middle infielder who possesses quick hands and some pop. Defensively Stout allows his soft hands to work in front of his body and made every play.

Kameron Kennedy (2013):  Kennedy is a 6’4 right handed pitcher. Although Kennedy did not pitch in the game, when playing catch he showed a live arm with good actions.
