QUICK HITS

OF Dante Matarese (Bishop Eustace, 2027) is an athletic 5-foot-11 160-pound right/left prospect that showed well at Tuesday's Junior Future Games workout. With a maximum exit velocity of 89 mph, Matarese projects to be a middle of the order impact bat.

MIF/RHP Nikash Patel (2027) shows some of the most projectable tools on the team. Wiry, athletic build at 6-feet 160-pounds, Patel possess whippyness to his bat path through the zone with a small leg lift and stride to start. Hands load back with rhythm and easiness, gap to gap juice, 89.4mph max EV. In the field, Patel's throws from across the diamond topped at 87 mph. Loose, whippy arm action, fields ball out front, twitchiness to game.

OF Ryan Hawken (Mahwah, 2027) showed some solid bat to ball skills during the showcase workout day. Crouched, wide stance. Hands close to head to start. Small foot lift to start swing. Hands load slightly up and back. Compact stroke through the zone. EV's topped at 87.7 mph with some line drive pop through the middle of the field.

OF/RHP Justin Kauffman (Ranney, 2027) impressed with his overall performance on the showcase workout. Advanced barrel awareness. Tall, balanced start, small load. Whip to the barrel through the zone. Stays in legs through finish.

OF/INF Jett Sevilla (Colts Neck, 2027) still has some filling out to do, but the skill foundation is present in his ability to find a barrel and work tough at bats. Tall setup, slightly opened stance, high hand load and line drive pop off the barrel. True utility man. Will contribute on the bump this week, too.

OF Curt Friedrich (Delbarton, 2027) put together a solid showing at the Junior Future Games workout, too. Simple, compact stroke through the zone with juice to the gaps, Friedrich has an athletic frame at 5-foot-7 155-pounds and packs a powerful stroke.

C Ryan Wetmore (Delbarton, 2027) has a projectable frame at 6-feet 165-pounds. Wide stance, weight preset on back side. Hands above back shoulder, stagnant hand load, torque to hips through the zone.

C Daniel Maye (Don Bosco Prep, 2027) has some advanced strength for his age at 5-foot-10 202-pounds. Opened stance, leg kick and stride to start swing. Explosive barrel path through the zone. EV's topped at 92.5mph, which was one of the top overall EV's from the event.

INF Zach Broderson (Pope John) has an athletic build at 5-foot-8 135-pounds. Some filling out yet to do, but possesses some next level actions at the plate. Rhythm in hands prepitch, sway weight load, hands move up and back.

INF Mike Mullane (Middletown South, 2027) has a quick toe tap trigger from a crouched stance. Barrel starts straight up, hands move back through the load. Level bat path through the zone. EV's topped at 83.8 mph. Athletic 5-foot-8 150-pound build.

SS Robert Wrobel (Ranney, 2027) is an interesting prospect to keep an eye on in the next couple of years. Lean, athletic 5-foot-9 150-pound frame with filling out yet to do. Controlled tall, slightly opened setup with bat behind head. Small foot lift and stride to start swing and uphill finish. EV's topped at 84.6 mph.

INF/RHP Logan Cleveland (Manasquan, 2027) has a projectable frame at 6-foot-3 170-pounds. At the plate, starts in a tall, neutral stance. Small foot stride to start swing. Hands load down and back. Uphill barrel path through finish.
