The Mississippi high school season kicks off on February 16, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 28, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. Outlook

   Coach Brian Rea and the Greyhounds of Ocean Springs have high aspirations for the 2019 campaign. Quality pitching and the depth of the pitching staff will carry the weight of the roster, and willl be lead by Malcolm Beaugez and Mississippi signee Mitch Murrell. Beauguez and Murrell are coming off a junior seasons where they combined to log 64 innings while striking out 87 hitters. Chance Goley will be given the task of handling the staff from behind the dish. With a few big pieces on the mound, Coach Rea feels confident about where his team is headed in 2019.
