The Guru's Class 2A Playoff Predictions

Hard to believe, but the Class 2A and 1A state playoffs begin Monday, with regional championships scheduled for Saturday.

Didn't the season just begin?

Anyway, the Class 2A landscape is weaker than past years, as several contenders moved up to 3A this season. One thing that hasn't changed is Harrisburg and Teutopolis are once again two of the favorites to win the 2A state championship. Both are ranked in the top 10 - Harrisburg at No. 6 and Teutopolis at No. 9 - and both are primed for championship runs.

Only one problem: Both reside in the Teutopolis Sectional, and the two perennial powerhouses should meet in the sectional championship. Teutopolis, which has won two state crowns in three seasons, knocked off Harrisburg in the sectionals last year.

The rest of the Class 2A is up for grabs. Who will be the last team standing at Peoria's O'Brien Field on June 1? Here's how I see it:
