Uncommitted 2020 Players-Southern Nevada

The Las Vegas Valley has been a steady producer of baseball talent.  Some players have possessed high level skills at early ages while others steadily progress.  Las Vegas has become a proven ground for recruiting efforts for schools at all levels and for good reason. With commitments and recruiting decsions being made earlier and earlier, stock has risen for players in the valley who continue to develop into their junior and senior years. Today PBR Nevada takes a look at three uncommitted 2020 prospects who possess the tools to play at the next level.

Paulshawn, Pasqualatto, RHP, Spring Valley, (2020)

Strong, 6-foot-0, 185. Pasqualatto has a mature body with wide shoulders and a developed lower half.  He pitched from a high 3/4 slot maintaining a plane over life fastball 88-89, touching 90. He lost a touch of velocity from the stretch, 86, as well as at the end of his outing, 83. He occasionally landed his breaking ball as well as changeup. His delivery is two piece, starting deliberate and slow, then exploding at the top of his leg lift, leading to some command struggles. Arm swing is tight and the body as well as arm action may lend to relief role at the next level.  With mound time and adjustments, he will be able to hold his velocity and stablize his command.

Michael Rice, RHP/OF, Faith Lutheran, (2020)

Physical, 6-foot-2, 180. Rice has an athletic build with natural strength. His frame will hold additional weight. Rice has an intriguing combination of crude athleticism and strength. He has a chance to be a two-way performer for someone. He has a good arm and solid zone feel. At 86-88 in the bullpen, easy to see the velocity playing up in a game situation. An upright short strider with short arm swing, there is some effort in his delivery. He pounded the strike zone with both his fastball and a slurvy breaking ball. All things considered, he may find himself in a relief role down the line. At the plate, the ball jumps off his bat. With his feel for the barrel accompanied by strength and bat speed, there appears present as well as projectable power.

Paul Myro, MIF, Basic, (2020)

Stocky, 5-foot-9, 180. Myro has a strong, compact well developed body. He is a high school quarterback and his athleticism is easily recognized. He showed solid infield mechanics at second base and turned an arm strength double play from that side of the bag. It is easy to see him playing shortstop, but he certainly profiles as an everday, offensive second baseman. In the batter's box, Myro sets with high hands and makes a strong forward move which leads to an aggressive swing that provides strength to his barrel. He will be a good addtion to a college program.
