Uncommitted Senior Spotlight - RHP Ty Anderson

As we head into the fall, we are beginning to see tons of 2024 graduates make commitments to play at the next level. Indiana's 2024 class features a deep crop of talent, with plenty of prospects still left on the board. Today, we take a deeper look at '24 RHP Ty Anderson of Westfield HS.

A strike-thrower that commands the zone with three pitches - Anderson is a reliable right-handed arm that pitches with a quiet confidence. A wiry athlete standing at 6-foot-1, 155 pounds, Anderson's athleticism stands out on the bump along with his fast arm speed. The ball comes out of a 3/4 slot that allows for sink & run on a fastball that will sit in the mid-80s and occasionally creep upwards (T 87.5 mph). His slider is firm and tight, sitting 78-80 mph in a look this spring, and he shows aptitude to spin it for a strike and induce soft contact with it. To round out a quality three-pitch mix, Anderson shows lots of feel and confidence for a faded changeup at 78-80 mph that shows swing-and-miss action at times. While Anderson doesn't necessarily possess powerful stuff, his ability to control the strike zone and generate ground balls allows him to consistently get outs and his athleticism and lean frame suggests that his stuff will only continue to improve.
