2024 prospects

Sam Mickelson OF / RHP / North Bend, OR / 2024

6’4, 185 with strength and size packed into an athletic build. Offensively starts in an open base with a slightly crouched stance in an upright, tall posture. Uses a deeper, push back load with the hands then shortens up his levers as he initiates swing. Stays short to the ball with abbreviated finish/decel after contact. Lifts ball to pull-side consistently with uphill path. Strong front side creates added leverage. Defensively profiles well to OF with size and speed combo. Long, athletic gait as a runner with burst and closing speed on the ball. Comes through the play aggressively but stays under control. Long, full arm path after hand break into a high 3’4 release. Keeps momentum behind the ball.

Glen Maduro III 1B / RHP / Tualatin, OR / 2024

Extra physical frame at 6’4, 210 with imposing presence. At the plate, sets up tall and upright with lower half open. Subtle weight shift as he takes low leg lift into a shorter forward stride. Tight scap load in upper half. Pulls hands in quickly, accelerating the barrel in a tight window while keeping his long levers compact. Leverage in the swing from strong base with an uphill swing path. Defensively showed a wide catch radius at 1B. Moves around the bag with steady, consistent footwork and body control. Loose hips when working down to the ball. Stays centered as he funnels into throwing motion. Longer arm path with a ¾ slot.

Andy Womack C / Churchill, OR / 2024

6’1, 165 lns with a lea, slender frame. Sets up balanced in the box with a slightly crouched stance and direct alignment towards pitcher. Stays upright with bend in lower half as he has a quick, short leg lift with minimal forward stride. Weight stays mostly centered. Hands push down and back as he loads and rotate early to get barrel on plane. Level path through the zone with a middle of the field approach. Flatter finish after contact. Defensively stays low behind the plate with mobility in the hips that allows him to work underneath the baseball. Showed both a 1KD set up while receiving plus a more conventional stance on throws to 2nd. Smooth exchange out of crouch as he gains ground and gets into throwing motion. Tight, compact arm with ¾ release and consistent ball flight out of hand.
