Scouting Report

6/19/18- 6-foot-2, 180-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. #35 ranked player in MN 2019 class. On mound; rocker step into crouched balance point, clean arm action, ball jumps out of hand, upright on release with occasional finish. Fastball was 84-85 mph with heavy action in bottom of zone. Above avg. curveball with late break and tight 11/5 shape. Above avg. run and sink on changeup for strikes. 7.00 runner. Square stance, clean path, uphill through contact, works mid/pull side of field with spray contact, 84 mph exit velocity. Active feet, tends to funnel underneath, solid athlete, shows ability to make plays, 85 mph arm strength across infield.

3/18/18- 6-foot-1, 175-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. #56 ranked player in MN 2019 class. Interesting follow with wider shoulders and lower half has a chance to add additional strength. On mound; medium crouched balance point, has solid arm strength, lands inline to catcher, will improve with better efficiency and use of lower half. Fastball jumps out of his hand with varying action at 84-86 mph. Breaking ball is best pitch with sharp 11/5 break late in zone for strikes. Straight action with late fade on changeup in bottom of zone. 7.26 runner. Square stance with knee to knee trigger, looks to elevate, uphill path through contact, shows avg./solid pop in bat with spray contact, 79 mph exit velocity. Athletic in field, avg. footwork, tends to stop to field, sure hands, accurate arm, 85 mph arm across infield.

 

7/5/17- 6-foot-1, 175-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. On mound; slight crouch and tip in delivery, clean arm action, comes out well in front, with extension and finish to plate. Fastball was 82-84 mph showing above avg. life and varying run and cut action. Small break, occasional spinning action, on 12/4 curveball. Sinking action on changeup; thrown at fastball arm speed. 7.51 runner. Square stance, slight leg kick, easy load, stiffer lower half, pull approach, line drive swing plane, ground ball contact, 75 mph exit velocity. Quick feet, covers ground with good range, sure hands, above avg. accuracy to bag, 83 mph arm across infield.

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Peck: I have had interest from a couple Division 1 schools and several Division 2 and 3 as well as some juco schools. 

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?

Peck: I have taken 4 visits and have a couple more lined up in the near future. 

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Peck: I am looking for a good business program and just overall good academics. 

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?

Peck: In my junior year I hit .354 for my high school team, also leading in RBI and home runs. I also had an ERA of 1.61.

PBR: What are your goals for this year?

Peck: My goal is to get my fastball up to 90 mph and to get faster and stronger

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Peck: I played high school basketball up to my sophomore year.

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?

Peck: My ACT is a 30 and my GPA is a 3.9.
