Scouting Report

6/19/18-  5-foot-9, 180-pound right-handed hitting catcher. #52 ranked player in MN 2019 class. 7.32 runner. Body load with pre-set hands, looks to elevate baseball, shows solid bat speed, flashes fly ball pop in bat, mid/pull approach, 88 mph exit velocity. Smooth movements, keeps balls in front, low target, holds pitches in zone, quick feet, clean exchange, has accuracy to bag, 74 mph arm strength with 1.96-2.1 pop times.

3/18/18- 5-foot-9, 180-pound right-handed hitting catcher. #42 player in MN 2019 rankings. 7.65 runner. Compact physical frame, easy body load, cocks hands into lower slot, clean path, looks to elevate baseball, flashes pop in bat, mid/pull approach with line drive and fly ball contact, 86 mph exit velocity. Keeps blocks in middle of plate, strong hands, receives well, quick feet, short arm action, slight hitch, solid actions behind plate, avg. accuracy to bag, 74 mph arm strength with 1.97-2.08 pop times.

 

3/18/17- 5-foot-9, 180-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.95 runner. Easy load, quiet head, transfers weight well through contact, line drive approach, solid present strength, clean swing, with flashes of pop in bat with mid/pull approach, 83 mph exit velocity. Quiet easy actions behind plate, sways to pitches, sticks baseball in zone, blocks well, clean arm action, throws downhill, accurate to bag, solid footwork and direction, 2.03-2.2 pop times with 71 mph arm strength.

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Linarte: A few D2 schools around the midwest and some Juco’s in Iowa and Texas.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?

Linarte: I have a visit planned this weekend at U of Mary, and I am planning more for the future.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Linarte: I would like to attend a school that will really help me grow as a baseball player while giving me the oppurtunity to study kinesiology.

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?

Linarte: Earning an All-Confrence award in my spring season for my high school.

PBR: What are your goals for this year?

Linarte: I would like to acheive certain measurables like 95 mph exit velo and sub 1.9 pop times. 

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Linarte: Not anymore, but I earned two letters in varsity hockey.
PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?

Linarte:  23 ACT 2.98 GPA
