2023 catcher Ryan Prehoda (Lackey) is one of the top uncommitted talents, and the top uncommitted catcher left on the board in the MD/DE Class of 2023 rankings. Prehoda has opened a ton of eyes over the past two summers, participating in PBRT's Virginia Open, Virginia Fall Select and the Maryland Classic. An impact guy on both sides of the ball, the physical 6-0, 190 pound backstop showcases a keen ability to change the game both offensively and defensively.

A relaxed setup at the dish with the hands pre-set high, Prehoda creates excellent hand separation with quick hands and whippy barrel action through contact. Creating loft to the pull side, the strength is evident to the left center field gap with consistent line drive tendencies. Defensively, the footwork is clean and quick, gaining a ton of ground on throws to the bag. Strong, accurate arm bodes well for Prehoda to make an immediate impact both with the bat and the glove at the next level.
