Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Derek Hurst (Forsyth HS)

As a junior last season, SS/OF Derek Hurst put up some impressive numbers, and looks to build upon a very successful season. 

Batting leadoff, Hurst posted a .403 batting average with a .512 On Base Percentage, 34 runs scored and struck out only 3 times in 62 at bats, just what we want to see from a leadoff batter.

The speedy Hurst was also 36 for 36 in stolen base attempts. A very aggressive and smart baserunner, Hurst consistently set the tone of the game for Forsyth. 

Look for Hurst to have another productive season, and once again be be a candidate for All Conference and All State honors.
