Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Paul Geha, RHP, Bishop Dwenger

Paul Geha, is a 6-foot-3, 190 pound right handed unsigned senior pitcher out of Bishop Dwenger High School. The righty possesses long limbs and a projectable body. From a high ¾ arm slot he shows a fastball that sits at 81-84 mph.

PBR: As you enter your senior year of HS baseball, where are you currently in the recruiting process?

Geha: I have made 3 campus visits. The schools include Holy Cross, Franklin and Indiana Wesleyan. Holy Cross has made an offer and the other two expressed that they are very interested. I am in the process of completing the applications for each school. In addition to these schools, Adrian College has asked me to visit as well. I have not scheduled a visit with them yet.

PBR: What schools are you most interested in right now, and why?

Geha: Holy Cross and Franklin are my top two. IWU didn’t really seem like a good fit for me. I really liked both schools. Each school had something different to offer. The hard part is that I liked what they both had to offer.

PBR: What aspect of your game do you believe needs the most improvement?

Geha: The one aspect of my game that I think needs improvement is a consistent arm slot. Sometimes I get a little to antsy and I lose my consistency because I just want to throw the next pitch.

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer, how do you feel playing for them helped you?

Geha: During the summer I played for the Fort Wayne Cubs. I feel like if it wasn’t for my coach Javi Dejesus I would not be where I am today.

PBR: What preparation are you doing now for the upcoming high school season?

Geha: When it comes to preparation my coaches and teammates consider me a gym rat. I am always at our team's workout facility trying to get that consistent release point and doing hard work. I consider myself a very hard worker. One of my favorite quotes that I take to heart is "Not preparing at all is preparing to fail"- John Wooden

PBR: What are your goals for the upcoming 2013 season, team and/or individual?

Geha: Team wise I want to get my school their first sectional title in several years. My individual goal for the season is to earn all-conference (SAC) pitching honors. And I firmly believe I can do it.

PBR: What is your fondest memory or highlight from your 2012 baseball season (High School or Summer)?

Geha: This is a tough question because I have so many great memories from this summer. But my favorite is probably when my team got invited to play in the Pastime Tournaments World Series at The Ohio State University. Only 16 teams got invited to play at that and it was a great experience.

PBR: What were your stats for your 2012 HS season?  Summer Season?

Geha: I don’t have my stats for my summer team, but for high school in 35 innings pitched I had a 3.80 ERA with a 1-5 record with 5 complete games.  I had 35 runs scored, but only 19 were earned. I had 23 strikeouts and averaged 4.60 a game.
