Alabama Class of 2023 Rankings:

Here is a very early look at high school players from Alabama that will be entering their freshmen season on their high school teams. Some have already played on JV teams as middle school players. This list is sure to change over the next few years but #1 in our 2023 rankings is RHP/SS Ryan Strachan of Sparkman HS. He simply dominated with the bat and on the mound at the Junior Future Games. He was an extra base hit machine at the plate and showed advanced stuff on the mound. The fastball came out of the hand easy and sat 82- 85 mph and touched 87 mph multiple times. Although he didn't need it much, he showed a well shaped breaking ball in the low 70's. USA Baseball 15U national team member Colton Wombles of Russell County HS comes in at #2. The catcher had a solid season for the Warriors last year and has enjoyed a very successful summer campaign. He's a guy that just flat gets after it on the field. Another catcher, Stone Lawless of Huntsville HS comes in at #3. The physical Lawless defends well behind the plate and has a ton of juice as a hitter. Wombles teammate at Russell County HS, SS/RHP Jaxon Milam comes in at #4. Milam shows advanced defensive actions at SS and has a very disciplined approach from the left side at the plate. RJ Hamilton of Hoover HS is another SS that comes in at #5 on the list. Hamilton, also a star on the Hoover football team as a freshman, is a solid defender in the dirt and consistently shows loud contact from the right side at the plate.
