Updated Kentucky Power 25 Team Rankings

Let the debate begin.

In a classic pitcher's duel last Friday night, the No.1 and No.2 teams in the Power 25 hooked up in a good one as St. Xavier's unsigned senior lefty Ben Britt and Central Hardin's Drew Harrington (Louisville recruit) matched each other pitch for pitch.

Britt worked 6 1/3 innings without allowing a hit and striking out nine before being removed from the game.

Harrington allowed 5 hits and struck out eleven as Central Hardin won the game 1-0 with a two-out RBI single in walk-off fashion.

It must be pretty simple when No.2 beats No.1 to figure out who should sit at the top of the rankings, right?

Not so fast.

When we updated our rankings last week, you may remember us talking about Central Hardin still being deserving of the No.2 spot despite two one-run losses to very good Lexington Catholic and Male squads.

We have the same feeling about the Tigers this week, who lost their first game against another Kentucky team since March 23.  The season-long body of work has been impressive, and the fact that they lost a game that came down to the wire against one of the top pitchers in the state is not deserving of a drop in the rankings this week.
