Updated PBR Colorado 2018 Rankings

John Cackowski
State Director

In the fall of 2014 PBR Colorado released our first ever 2015, 2016, and 2017 rankings. In the past year Prep Baseball Report Colorado has had the opportunity to cover amateur baseball like no other organization has ever been able to do before in the state of Colorado. Between scouting numerous games  and recently having a great opportunity to see more 2018 grads at the Top Prospect Games scouting fall baseball games,  we have been able to move our 2018 rankings from 50  to 70. These rankings will for sure grow and change as we get out to watch more games this spring. Our next 2018 rankings will be posted after the spring baseball season.

Still No. 1 overall is OF/RHP Tanner O'Tremba of Cherry Creek High School. 6-foot, 210 pounds. Bats and throws right. O'tremba is a very explosive player. Looks like a full back and plays the game extremely hard. O'tremba uses a slightly open stance and has an explosive swing. He can keeps his hands back, and also turn on a fastball. Has a big load, and uses leg kick to start a swing that is explosive on contact that generates an impressive 97 mph exit velocity off a tee.  Has gap to gap power. In the outfield has a lot of speed for his size, and proved it with a 6.87 60 time. Strong arm at 84 mph. On the mound was consistently 85-86 mph with a high of 88.

New to our rankings coming in at No. 2 is C Luke Leisenring of Ralston Valley. The 6-foot-3, 185 pound switch hitting catcher has a ton of projectibility. Enough so he recently went to an Arizona State camp and they offered him on the spot. Has gap to gap power from both sides of the plate. For his size he has a sub 2.0 pop time, and runs a 7.2 60. Arm strength is impressive behind the plate coming in at 78 mph.

Coming in at No. 3 in our rankings is 1B/LHP Justin Olson of Pine Creek. 6-foot-2, 200 pounds. Bats and throws left. Olson has been tearing up high school pitchers since his freshman year and has already hit 3 homeruns this year. Olson has advanced power potential. He stands in a slight crouch at the plate, and has no problem turning on any inside fastball. Olson also has a presence on the mound. Currently he has pitched 9 innings in 2016 carrying 1-0 record and has 18 strikeouts.

Our No. 4. 2018 is RHP Cole Winn of Silver Creek. 6-foot-1, 170 pounds. Winn has recently committed to Notre Dame. Winn is armed with a fastball that lives between 87-89 mph, and projects to increase when he puts on some more weight. Winn has come on the seen in 2016. When Winn learns to have more fastball command he's going to be even more of a force. He has currently pitched 16 innings and has 27 strikeouts on the season.

Also new to the Top 10 are RHP Riley Egloff of Heritage who has transitioned to a pitcher his sophomore year, and is armed with an 88 mph fastball, and RHP/OF Jeremy Onken of Pine Creek who possesses a fastball that is 85 to 87 mph.
