Starting our rankings week off with a small preview of five new faces that are entering into the Virginia/DC 2025 Rankings.

New Faces Part I

*Listed in alphabetical order.*

Gavin Angelillo C / RHP / Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, VA / 2025

Strong 6-foot frame with the ability to impact an offense in the middle of the order. Above average arm strength behind the plate. Frame has some durability and a chance to hold up. Angelillo has some present power at the plate and the potential for more. Will be one to watch this summer.

Thomas Conrad OF / 3B / Greenbrier Christian, VA / 2025

Conrad has the chance to make a splash this summer. Has kind of moved center stage in terms of uncommitted sophomores in the 757. Lean, athletic frame with some proportional strength. Hand speed and some twitch in his actions at the plate. Has had a strong spring. Is athletic enough to offer some positional versatility in the infield and could easily contribute in corner outfield as well.

Noah Haught SS / 2B / Bishop O'Connell, VA / 2025

Haught first jumped out to our staff at a late fall scout day with the Primetime Aces. Athletic defender that has the actions to stay in the middle. Average arm strength with a quick exchange and release and the ability to throw from multiple slots with accuracy. At the plate it is a contact bat with occasional doubles power. Haught is pretty thin and will need to add strength, but his ability to put the bat and barrel on the ball shows some promise that as the frame fills out, he will be able to make a bigger impact on the ball. Defense first profile with a solid hit tool that will continue to progress as he adds strength.

Nathan Jackson MIF / RHP / Courtland, VA / 2025

Jackson is a twitchy, athletic middle infielder. Left some strong impressions with our staff earlier this spring when he showed some solid actions in the middle and an aggressive approach at the plate. A bit undersized with a high motor and gives off some Clay Grady vibes with the way he goes about things. Will be an interesting follow as he continues to add strength to the frame.

Aaron Van Tuyle SS / RHP / Heritage (Leesburg), VA / 2025

One of the more intriguing '25 hitters that we have seen and heard about this spring. Solid 5-foot-11 frame that has some proportional strength. Biggest standout for Van Tuyle is the way he impacts the baseball at the plate. Right handed bat that produces loud contact and displays some easy raw power, as well as produces in game power. The positional fit long term is TBD, but is athletic and versatile and could see some corner/corner projection long term. It is an offense first profile and the bat will keep him in the lineup.
