April 13/14 Daily Game Roundup

#2 Elkhart Central 10 #16 Mishawaka Marian 3 – Riley Futterknecht picked up the win going all seven innings and striking out 10. Futterknecht also had three RBI. Tanner Tully was 2-3 with a double and a RBI. Adam Raifsnider had a double and two RBI.

#2 Elkhart Central 10 Elkhart Memorial 1 – Ronnie Hawkins picked up the win going six innings, allowing five hits, and striking out five. Jack Bernacchi homered and drove in four runs, Riley Futterknecht doubled and drove in three runs, and Kalib DeFreese and Carson Volhiem each had two hits.

Mishawaka 5 #4 Penn 0 – Trey Bickel picked up the win allowing just four hits as he picked up the complete game shutout. Dillon Papa, Matt Carver, and Jarrod Laymon had two hits each.  Carver and Laymon also had two RBI each.  

#8 Huntington North 5 FW Northrop 2 – Braydin Stell picked up the win working four innings, allowing four hits, and striking out five. Stell also drove in two runs. Cody Frazier had two hits, including a double, and two RBI. Kendall Whitman had two hits.

#8 Huntington North 6 FW Northrop 0 – Evan Brown picked up the win going five innings allowing just five hits and striking out three. Kendall Whitman had a big game at the plate finishing 4-4 with two doubles, a homerun, and three RBI. Mitch Trieglaff was 3-4 with a double and two RBI and Cody Frazier was 2-4 with two runs.

#12 Crown Point 10 Mishawaka 0 – David Kepshire got the win going all five innings and allowing just five hits. Crown Point picked up nine hits in the game included a Joe Hopman grand slam in the fifth to secure the win.

Illiana Christian (IL) 5 #15 Andrean 3 – Michael Brosseau was 1-2 with two runs, two walks and a stolen base. Nick Tobye was 2-3 with a double, a run and a RBI. Jeremy Wright was 2-2 with a RBI, a walk, a HBP, and a stolen base.

#15 Andrean 11 Chesterton 6 – Andrean busted out 13 hits in the game. Michael Brosseau led the way with three including a double, homerun, five RBI, and two runs. Zac Ryan also had three hits in the game. Mark Pishkur came on in relief and picked up the victory.

#17 New Castle 20 Cambridge City 2 - Conner King finished the game 3-3 with two doubles, two walks, and four runs. Grant Malott was 2-3 with a double, two runs, and three RBI. Trey Ball added a hit and drove in three runs. Michael Bear threw all five innings for the win allowing just four hits, one earned run, and striking out 11.

#23 Bloomington South 3 Westfield 2 – South trailed 2-0 going into the 6th, but Tyler Zoltewicz homered in the 6th and Isaac Barrow homered in the 7th to tie the game. Cody Workman doubled and scored when a bunt was thrown away to give South the win. Nathan Manworren finished the day 3-4 for Westfield.

Greensburg 1 Jennings County 0 - Luke Kane got the win going six plus innings striking out nine allowing one hit in the shutout. Tyler Burcham came in for the save. Greensburg's only two hits came from Bailey and Schultz.

Fremont 8 Westview 5 – Glen McClain had a big day at the plate finishing 2-3 with a double, homerun, four RBI, and two runs. Tanner Wall picked up the win on the mound going three innings, allowing just one hit, and striking out four. Matt Hoff got the save.

Eastern Hancock 14 Knightstown 4 – Cody Wallace picked up the win allowing just two hits and striking out five in five innings of work. Wallace also tripled and scored three times. Cole Fout finished the day 2-4 with a double, RBI, and two runs scored. Dalton Korlowicz also double, drove in a run, and scored once.

Northfield 8 Marion 2 – Andy Roser had a big day at the plate going 2-2 with a triple, homerun, and four RBI. Adam Roser finished 2-4 and Shane Vigar added a double. Joseph Ross worked all seven innings to get the win allowing just six hits and striking out six.

Northfield 4 Marion 2 – Tanner Chamberlain picked up the win going all seven innings allowing just four hits and striking out 11. Andy Roser completed a perfect day going 3-3 in game two with a RBI. Joseph Ross and Austin Keen each had a hit and RBI.

Crawfordsville 7 Western 6 – Jordan Jackson continued his hot hitting going 2-4 with a homerun, four RBI, and two runs. Craig Brainard, Mitchel Reeves, and Logan Meadows all had two hits in the game. Adam Bolen was 1-2 with a double, two RBI, and three runs for Western.

Mishawaka 7 Griffith 6 – Mishawaka scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead. Matt Carver got the win on the mound and Jarrod Laymon and Dillon Papa both doubled. Jesse Smith doubled and homered for Griffith.

Evansville Reitz 6 Castle 4 - Reitz scored three in the bottom of the first on a two run inside the park by Daniel Sander.  Sander was 2-2, three RBI and scored two runs.  Tyler Schmitt (2-0) pitched a complete game for Reitz.

Lapel 28 Liberty Christian 1 – Lapel put up 18 runs in the top of the first inning. Jacob Huntzinger finished 2-2 with a homerun, two runs, and six RBI. Boston Fields, Evan Mohr, Palmer Pickett, and John Magers each had two hit in the game. Magers and Brady Cherry each drove in two runs.

Leo 8 FW Bishop Luers 1
Leo 10 FW Bishop Luers 1 - The Lions had 23 hits in the two games. Jackson Boyce and Luke Smitley each went 4-8 on the day. The Lions pitchers only allowed seven hits and one earned run in the two games.
