Western PA Top Prospect Games: Black Team Preview

The 2018 Western PA Top Prospect Games will take place on June 12 and 13 at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA. The Top Prospect Games have become the premier event of the summer for aspiring college prospects statewide and continue to grow in popularity every year.

For the third consecutive year the Top Prospect Games have been divided into two events at two locations for the summer of 2018. The Eastern PA Top Prospect Games will take place on on June 19 and 20 at Cooper Park on the campus of Millersville University.

Today we continue a series of articles previewing the rosters of each of the four teams that will participate over the course of two days. A total of four nine inning games will be played with each team playing one game per day.

Troy Emert PA Rockwood Area 2019 RHP/SS No. 181 in PA Breakout junior season. Hit .644 with 10 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR and 17 RBI. Went 7-2 on the mound with a 0.47 ERA.
Alex Kitko PA Moshannon Valley 2019 RHP No. 169 in PA Struck out 52 in 28 IP this spring. Held hitters to a .151 batting average against.
Bobby Lane PA Penn-Trafford 2020 OF/1B No. 48 in PA Athletic LHH with a chance to hit for power.
Evan Lewis PA Elizabeth Forward 2021 C/OF   Hit. .290 with 18 hits as a freshman.
Jake Orr PA McGuffey 2021 2B/SS   Hit .341 with 14 hits and 11 runs scored as a freshman.
Harrison Pontoli PA Beaver Area 2019 SS/2B No. 178 in PA Hit .456 with 26 hits, 6 2B, 1 3B, 14 RBI and 20 runs scored as a junior.
Nick Vari PA Seton-La Salle Catholic 2019 LHP/OF   5-foot-10, 180-pound primary pitcher is an athletic two-way prospect
Andino Vecchiolla PA Laurel Highlands 2020 LHP   Went 5-1 with a 2.50 ERA as a sophomore. Struck out 23 and allowed just 4 walks in 36.1 IP.

** Players and spectators are reminded all cars should be parked in the lot above home plate near the softball field. 

** Players are reminded that NO METAL CLEATS will be permitted for this event. Turf shoes, molded plastic cleats and cross trainers are the only footwear that will be acceptable.
