This weekend saw the end of the 2016 high school season in Virginia and DC. With the completion of a fun season, we wanted to take a few minutes to tell you what to expect from us in the coming weeks and months.

High School Season Wrap-up
On Tuesday of this week, we will release an updated and expanded Power 25 that will be our final set of rankings for the year. This will not be limited to just 25 teams, as will rank the teams that deserve to be in consideration. We will also release our PBR VA/DC All-State Team in the next few weeks. If you know someone who you think should be considered, please submit their information on our Nomination Form. We will also update and expand our Class of 2017 Rankings and Class of 2018 Rankings in the next few weeks, as well as release our first Class of 2019 Rankings.

Game Coverage
With no more high school games to cover, we will shift our coverage to the travel and American Legion season. We will not rank these teams the way we do the high school teams, but we will get out to games to continue to see the best talent in Virginia and the District. To ensure that we have your team’s schedule, please email them to John Nolan at [email protected].

Also, with the end of the high school season, we will retire the 2016 Virginia/DC Scout Blog for the year. The scout blog has reports on over 230 players from over 70 teams and has become quite long. We will start the VA/DC Summer Scout Blog after the next event that we attend, and will continue to post to that throughout the rest of the calendar year.

Events
While we make our best effort to get out and see the best players and gather as much information as we can for the 700+ colleges that have subscriptions to our website, the best way to make sure that we get all of your information and good video for your profile is to attend a PBR event. We have a series of events scheduled for the summer, starting with the Top Prospect Showcase North next week and the Top Prospect Showcase South the following week.

Members of the Class of 2018 are also eligible to play for Team Mid-Atlantic at the PBR Future Games outside of Indianapolis the first weekend of August. This weekend will also see the Virginia Cardinals attend the Under Armour Classic at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Later this summer, we will hold our first Unsigned Senior Games at Randolph Macon College. This event is for members of the Class of 2017 who are still uncommitted in early August. We will also have our annual Fall Prospect Games and a Fall Open ID Showcase series as well.
