Wild night in Section 3 as Fayetteville Manlius outlasts West Genesee

Fayetteville Manlius was able to overcome a few obstacles Monday night to advance to section 3 Class AA finals Friday night. FM will take on Auburn who shocked Baldwinsville and destroyed Liverpool 10-2 in their section 3 games. West Genesee had a 2-0 lead in the top of the 6th but FM pushed three runs across with hits from Sean Brown, Matt Truman, and Josh Loeffler to take the 3-2 lead.

The lead wouldn't last long as West Genesee scored one in the 7th due to a balk by pitcher Sean Brown bringing home Will Randall from third. The game would stay tied until the 9th inning when 2016 prospect Josh Loeffler drew a walk and stole second and third base. Mike Hoalcraft drew a walk and stole second continuing the trend all with no outs. With runners on second and third Nate Olsen smashed a single to score Loeffler and advance Hoalcraft to third. Hoalcraft then scored on a wild pitch to give the Hornets enough breathing room leading 5-3.
