Ben Gullo, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound RHP from Lake Zurich HS, has committed to Eastern Kentucky University. Gullo opened eyes at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase in the winter, where he showed a heavy 87-88 mph fastball to go along with a curveball and changeup.

Parker Ryndak, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound RHP from Wheaton-Warrenville South HS, has committed to Southeastern CC in Iowa. Ryndak had previously committed to Northern Illinois University.

>> Harrisburg sophomore RHP/SS Ryne Roper, who?s the No. 1-ranked Class of 2013 prospect in the state, has nine home runs this season. As a freshman on Harrisburg?s Class 2A state runner-up squad, Roper hit 6 homers, 17 doubles and drove in 35 while going 10-1 on the mound.

>> Kjeld Torkelson, a 6-foot-5, 185-pound unsigned senior outfielder from Morris HS, has tallied 13 home runs and 39 RBI through May 7. He?s hitting .452 with a slugging percentage of .988.

>> Bill Boyle, a strong-bodied physical unsigned senior catcher from St. Ignatius HS, is hitting .480 with five homers, four triples, nine doubles and 28 RBI though last week.
