Plainfield North RHP Sean Renzi picks his school



Plainfield North RHP Sean Renzi, who was the top unsigned arm in Illinois, has picked his school, choosing Central Michigan University. Renzi has been dominant for the No. 3-ranked Tigers in his two varsity seasons.

As a junior, Renzi earned Prep Baseball Report second-team All-State honors after he posted a 10-0 record with a 0.98 ERA. In 64 innings, he recorded 88 strikeouts. At the plate, the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder batted .413 with 8 home runs, 10 doubles and 49 RBI.

Renzi joins Providence Catholic LHP Matt Trowbridge and Providence Catholic SS Joe Houlihan in Central Michigan?s recruiting class from Illinois. Renzi is the third pitcher on Plainfield North?s staff to commit, joining RHP Brian Evak (University of Illinois-Chicago) and RHP Patrick Cashman (Benedictine University).
