No. 4 St. Rita (6-1) was stunned by Reavis 7-6 on Thursday in Burbank.

No. 7 Plainfield North (4-0) pounded Glenbard East 11-1 in five innings behind
senior RHP Brian Evak (2-0). Evak fired a complete-game gem, striking out seven Ram hitters and was 4-for-4 at the plate and drove in five Tiger runs. Junior DH Joey Cresta homered and had three RBI for the Tigers.

No. 8 Lemont (2-2) defeated Plainfield East 6-3 behind University of Illinois-bound 1B Josh Ferry, junior C Kyle Milinowisch, and MSU-bound SS Kevin Goergen. Ferry homered and had two hits and two RBI for the Indians. Milinowisch tripled and singled and drove home a pair and Goergen chipped in and drove in the other two Lemont tallies. Junior RHP Mike Hall picked up the win with relief help from senior RHP Jeremy Santiago. Lemont will visit No.48 Minooka (4-1) in the quarterfinals of the WJOL Area Invite at 4:30, Friday. At 1:30, at Minooka, No.1 Providence (3-0) will take on Plainfield Central (0-3) in WJOL quarterfinal action. Drake Skleba will be in Minooka for the quarterfinal doubleheader, as part of the  PBR Game of the Day.

No. 11 Harrisburg (7-1) defeated Vernon Hills and No. 6 New Trier at the Miner Classic in Marion. The Bulldogs outslugged previously unbeaten Vernon Hills 8-7 behind senior Logan Leverett, who blasted a two-run homer and senior Caleb Thompson, who had a two-run double.

Against No. 6 New Trier (2-3), senior Isaac Behme drove in five Bulldog runs. Bulldog Nick Borders had four hits and drove in a pair. Junior Cameron Cummins (2-0) fired a six-hitter at the Trevians.

No. 14 Cary-Grove (3-3) blanked Kaneland 6-0 behind senior Mike Vilardo. Vilardo (1-0) fired a six-hit shutout at the Knights and homered at the plate for the Trojans.

No. 16 O?Fallon (6-1; 2-0) destroyed Granite City 21-2 in Southwestern Conference action. Senior Casey Truitt had two hits and four RBI for the Panthers. Austin Peay-bound Matt Meadows was on base five times, with two hits and three walks and drove in three. Cedarville College-bound Sam Summerlin, senior Justin Busekus, and junior Corey Beyersdorfer, all hit solo homers for the defending Southwestern Conference champs.

No. 17 Westminster Christian (1-3) continued to struggle on its southern Illinois trip, falling to No. 41 Mundelein 10-2 and Cobden 5-4. Warrior senior 1B Frank Oliver hammered a two-run homer against Mundelein. Against Cobden (1-3), junior Kevin Elder was 3-for-3. Junior RHP/LHP Ryan Perez (1-1) and junior Dylan Scully (0-1) were roughed up on the mound.

No. 18 Sandburg (2-1) defeated district-rival Andrew 7-3. Eastern Illinois-bound SS Brant Valach had two hits and drove in a run for the Eagles. Eagle Tyler Witek drove home two and senior RHP Eric Chmielewski picked up the win on the mound.

No. 19 Stevenson (2-0) defeated Crystal Lake South 9-6. The Patriots were again led by Harvard-bound 3B Mike Martin, who had three hits and three RBI. Senior Brandon Waters and Jacob Scholl each delivered a pair of hits and a pair of RBI. On Saturday,Stevenson will host Carmel at 11. The PBR?s Sean Duncan will be in Lincolnshire for all of the Game of the Day action.

No. 20 Neuqua Valley (4-0) blanked West Aurora 7-0 behind a sterling five-inning shutout performance by sophomore LHP Jason Avallone (1-0). Purdue recruit junior Jack Amaro led the Wildcat offense with three hits and two RBI. Senior RHP Kevin Hodgeman finished up the combined white-wash with two scoreless innings of relief. West Aurora falls to 3-1.

No. 23 Streamwood (5-0) beat Fenton 7-3. Sabre junior RHP Rich Gorski (2-0)
picked up the win on the mound and Villanova-bound Josh Harris homered  for Streamwood.

No. 25 Edwardsville (4-1; 2-0) got past Belleville East 5-3 in Southwestern Conference action. Tiger junior SS Matt Huelsmann had two hits and drove in three
Tiger runs. 6-foot-7 Tiger RHP Zach Sedlacek evened his record at 1-1.

No. 27 Lockport (3-0) defeated Downers Grove North 13-7. St. Joseph College-bound Matt Skrzypiec and Austin Mastella went deep for the Porters.

No. 26  St. Charles East (3-1) defeated Glenbard North 9-7 behind junior RHP Johnny Hondlick. Hondlick allowed one run in four innings of relief to pick the win.
Hondlick drove home three Saint runs with a 2-for-4 afternoon. Judson recruit senior 1B Tony Rollo drove in two runs for the Saints.

No. 28 Brother Rice  (2-2) rolled past Hinsdale Central  11-2 behind junior Brian McQuillan and Sean McGrath, who each had two hits and two RBI for the Crusaders. Junior RHP Ryan Koziol (1-0) allowed one hit and struck out six in five innings to pick up the win.

No. 32 Naperville Central (3-1) blasted No. 12 Lyons Township 10-1 behind Belmont University-bound LHP Dan Ludwig (2-0). Ludwig allowed one run and two hits in his six-inning stint. The lefty struck out 10 Lion hitters. Junior Ian Lewandowski had three hits and plated three Redhawk runs and left-handed hitting Jake DeVoy doubled and drove in four.

No. 36 Rock Falls (5-0) blasted Auburn 16-1 in five innings behind Rocket junior Brett Chappell, who doubled and homered for the Rockets and drove in four runs.

No. 37 Warren (3-3) defeated  No. 24 St. Charles North (3-3) in the Miner Classic in Marion 6-5. Senior 1B John Munyon had two hits for St. Charles North and junior 3B Jake Johansmeier picked up another RBI.

No. 38 Huntley (4-0) defeated Hoffman Estates 2-1 behind a game-tying double by Nick Bralich and the game-winner, a two-out single by Brody Burkhart. Senior RHP Jake Staab picked up the win for the Red Raiders.

No. 46 Benet Academy (2-2) routed Waubonsie Valley 10-4.The Redwings were led by Nick Moore, R.J. Gatto and Andrew Mogni, all who drove in two runs.

No. 47 York (4-0) slipped past Wheaton Warrenville South 4-3. Senior Joe Paparone homered for the Dukes. York will host No. 33 Simeon (6-0) in a PBR Game of the Day. PBR Editor-in-Chief Sean Duncan will be in Elmhurst at noon today.

No. 48 Minooka (4-1) slipped past Batavia 5-4 behind junior SS Nick Fleischauer,
who homered, among his three hits and drove in three runs. Indian Dan Fox chipped in with three hits, including a triple.

Reavis (3-3) stunned No. 4 St. Rita 7-6 behind Ram senior Alex Morales. The 5-foot-5 Morales stood tall when he ripped a clutch two-run double to cap a six-run Ram explosion in the fifth. Senior Brandon Hines (2-0) picked up the win on the mound and senior C/P Rob Rabakozi picked up his first save of the year.

South Elgin (4-0) rallied to defeat Dundee-Crown 6-5 behind Storm seniors Kenny Lowden and Nate Garris. The Storm scored four runs in the top of the sixth, all after two outs, overcoming a 5-2 Charger lead. Lowden tied the game at five with a three-run shot and later Garris would double home the game-winner, his second hit of the game. Storm junior LHP Ryan Ford (1-0) picked up the win in relief with three hitless innings on the mound.

Vernon Hills (6-1) defeated Grayslake North 11-6, at SIU in Carbondale on Thursday. Freshman Pat Crowley (3-0) won again on the mound for the Cougars. Red-hot Chris Marras continued his torrid hitting with three hits and three RBI. Eric Lang also drove in three Cougar runs. Later in the day the Cougars lost for the first time in 2011, falling 8-7 to No. 11 Harrisburg 8-7. Cougar Brian Palmer homered for VH.

Marian Catholic (5-1) defeated Bradley-Bourbonnais 5-3 behind juniors Brett Lilek and Nick Santori (1-0). Lilek doubled home a run in the Spartan five-run first inning and Santori fired four hitless innings in relief to pick up the win on the mound for the Spartans.

Galesburg (5-2) blanked Pekin 10-0 in five innings behind a one-hit shutout by RHP Tyler Farrell (3-0). Farrell struck out 10 for the Streaks. Zach McCreary doubled in a pair for the Streaks giving him 16 for the season. Chad Johnson had a 3-for-4 day with two RBI.
