Patrick Kenney, an athletic 6-foot-3, 190-pound OF/RHP from Warren HS, has committed to Purdue University. The two-way talent made a huge impact on varsity as a sophomore last year, as he blasted 12 home runs to go along with 43 RBI and a .402 batting average. Kenney, who?s also blessed with a strong arm and good speed, has been up to 87 mph with his fastball on the mound as well.

Kenney is currently ranked No. 15 in the Class of 2012. His commitment gives Purdue three top 20 junior prospects in Illinois alone, joining St. Rita RHP Eddie De La Riva and Oak Park-River Forest catcher Jack Picchiotti. Jack Amaro, a junior OF from Neuqua Valley HS, is also committed to the Boilermakers.

With Kenney?s commitment, now 12 of the top 25 junior prospects in Illinois are off the board.
