1/25/20

NorCal Preseason All-State: 6-1, 185 has added strength throughout as the frame is filling in well. Balanced, slightly squatted stance with hands tight and even; slight foot lift with hands having short load back while maintaining posture. Creates some stretch with barrel turn keeping the hands tight and working level through the zone keeping body behind the ball on firm front side; hands did cut the zone occasionally. Best swing allows him to drive the RCF gap and be able to get out front more for the LCF gap like he did during BP (83 EV). Strong prep step and footwork at 3rd being light on his feet and showing the ability to open his hips quickly; reacts to the ball and keeps high firm throws across (72 INF). Gets out of crouch well with good direction to 2nd and high hand on throws; regularly on the bag and best throws occurred when he had chest over feet more consistently (2.08-2.12, 74 C). One-knee receiver with low target; showed ability to block from the one-knee and keep it soft in front of him. Noticeable improvements in catching skills and overall athleticism. High quality kid and consistently working to improve not only himself but those around him. 7.25 60yd, 72 INF, 74 C, 2.08-2.12 Pop, 83 EV

Fall tournament - Uncommitted; One of the more consistent performers we see among uncommitted 2021 grads, Seeman once again was steady Eddie in this look. His approach at the plate is one of the most consistent and quality approaches of any player in the region in the 2021 class, committed or uncommitted. It's rare that he doesn't bang one or more balls to the right-centerfield gap, while showing excellent zone discipline and hands that consistently work inside and through the ball. He is able to see the ball deep stay on-time to center and right-center, and that approach also allows him to lay off pitches that many hitters offer at. Truly, his approach is outstanding and though there are other players who have bigger raw tools, his approach is superior as a 2021 player. He doesn't overswing and has a chance to be an excellent RBI/run-producing presence in a line-up. Defensively he has the chops to play either corner position and is also a very competent catcher. It's likely he's being overlooked because there are flashier players but when it comes to performing between the white lines, he's an outstanding player.

6/13/19

Summer Scout - Medium, strong frame with even proportions, showed well during the day. Game 1 saw him with two loud contact hits with a 2B into RCF and a single through the 6-hole. Compact, quick bat with flat barrel through the zone makes hard contact showing a strong approach at the plate looking for FB up and attacking when he gets it. Also showed his ability to read and get good jumps stealing 3rd after the double. Game 2 saw him pick up a 3rd hit on the day with a solid single through the 4-hole

5/27/19

NCA Underclass ID - Large, square frame with high waist and growing strength. Athletic runner with driving legs showing good speed underway (7.40 60 yd). Wide balanced stance keeping even hands and tight elbows to the body. Simple knee tuck step as hands work back into shoulder keeping weight in back knee over back foot. Hands are quick on level path with high finish showing late barrel speed; barrel regularly on plane driving through the ball. Showed gap power and ability to carry ball into pull side of the field; lots of line drives through middle of field (82 EV). Keeps feet underneath him well with agility and smooth movements through the baseball; solid lateral range with good crossover and ability to chop feet to stay in time with the ball. Moves well with angles coming to get the ball. Loose easy arm actions with quick release and clean release; online with carry (80 MPH). Strong frame has some space to keep growing and projects well to multiple infield positions with bat that makes solid contact to middle of field.

4/16/19

Fresno Easter Classic (two games) - Behind plate receives well with sure hands, quiet actions, handles the low pitch well, solid block ability, good technique in all he did, skill rates better than grades on raw tools but the overall package is very serviceable when considering him beyond high school. Pop throws were 2.11-2.19 and on the bag (including a caught stealing), drove ball in the middle of the field on a couple of occasions in Lemoore game. Showed middle of the field approach with two hard hit balls back through the box; compact and on-time swing. Played well at 2B with average range and a fair arm; agile over fast with ability to play multiple positions (2B/C/3B) and frame to keep growing.

1/27/19

PBR N CA Preseason All-State  - Narrow, long, large frame showing wider chest and strength growing in lower half; projectable frame and athleticism in body showing strong stride length (7.41 60-yd). Very energetic player who continues to improve and impress while competing on the diamond. Balanced and agile behind the plate showing quick transition with light feet showing strength in footwork; quick to ear with arm and compact release keeping ball on the arm side of the bag (2.00-2.12 pop, 71 MPH). Slightly crouched, balanced stance with even hands, relaxed elbows and high bat; hands stay tight while working back with front knee lift keeping balance in back hip. Stays behind the baseball working bat on level path with slight upwards finish; ability to drive ball gap-to-gap flashing barrel control and growing pop (81 exit velo). Really nice swing that projects more once getting to maturity.

8/25/18

PBR N California Underclass Games - 5-foot-11, 165-pounds, lean body, good proportionality, has some present strength but still room to fill out. Aggressive young player with a chance to develop some hit and defense tools that work at the catcher position. Hits from a balanced slight crouch with a small leg lift timing mechanism. Small hand load and does nice job working inside the ball and to the middle of the field. Gets good leverage at contact. Could loosen up the hands a little bit and create a bit more separation of his hands from his body. There are some hitting tools present though. Defensively he made a smooth glove to hand transfer on his throws and showed clean footwork. Feet are quiet though he could stay a bit lower and drive his backside better to get more power into the throws. Efficient thrower around the bag and he will be competitive with attempted base stealers. Pop time of 2.10 in game action was consistent with his workout throws. Good look in this kid’s eyes as he likes to play.
