6/12/18 - Cummings is a slick fielding middle infielder with soft hands who funnels balls out front before exchanging mid-chest and using his big, accurate arm across the diamond. He’s a very athletic player with quick, fluid footwork and very good control of is body. Attacks balls rather than sitting back and waiting on them. Cummings shows a slightly open stance with good balance throughout setup and swing. Shows good feel for the barrell and shows a level swing plane that he keeps in the hitting zone. Current line-drive type hitter that gets extension which could develop into bigger power with continued physical maturation. Cummings uses the knob to lead the swing and “slices” through the ball with the barrel. An average runner, Cummings was clocked at 7.40 in the 60, he’s quicker than he is fast and had no trouble getting to balls up the middle.
