2020 Canyon Crest (San Diego, CA) LHP/OF is listed at 6-foot 185 pounds and is committed to the University of San Diego. Started on the mound and hit second vs Mission Hills. Mature look with a strong sturdy build and some room for added strength. Compact mechanics and a short arm swing in the back allow for deception and late pitch recognition. Arm speed in the front is quick and consistent. Holds runners well and has a good pickoff move which will help his transition to the college game.

Generates a slight hesitation in his leg lift which offsets timing and keeps his body under control but could be causing a present slight decrease in velocity. Fastball sat comfortably at 84-86 mph and plays up from his short arm deception. Generates outs from fastball command to both sides of the plate and a swing and miss offspeed arsenal consisting of a slider, curve and change-up with the same arm action and speed as his fastball. Slider is the best offspeed offering at 71-74 mph that carries well and has sharp downward bite. Change-up acts more like a power change with a 72-76 mph speed range and is a good developmental pitch with potential.

Command pitcher whom has only walked 6 batters and struck out 39 in 30 innings this season. Has been consistently hit to an extent for a strikeout pitcher with 30 hits allowed and a 240 opponents batting average. Fine tuning of his off-speed arsenal and learning to create consistent swings and misses on pitches out of the zone following quality early count set up pitchers should turn him into a top 5 pitcher in the 2020 San Diego HS season.

Confident hitter who is having success with a 312 batting average and 881 OPS. Displays a level swing with a barrel path that travels through the zone well. Has shown some pop this season with 3 home runs and an exit velo of 90 mph on a double. Grades out as a pitcher but his ability to hit with some power at the high school level helps his overall profile and knowledge of the game.
