10/27-10/29/18 - Fall tournament - St. Mary's commit is an imposing 6-foot-4, 225-pounds, XL frame showing wide shoulders and strength in upper half with room in lower half for more strength/tightening as he ages; pitcher build that can be workhorse at next level. Simple delivery with quick front knee while hands stay wider from the chest; hands show small drop to waist on front knee allowing very quick arm to get to 3/4 release from a compact action. Fastball 86-89 with angle down and life up through the zone; had some control issues late in start where he was rushing down hill and spinning off front leg but otherwise spotted pitch as needed. Slider 74-77 with 2-level break showing tight spin and hard break glove side; punch out pitch with ability to go back to back. Slightly open stance at plate with hands that create leverage and power to all fields; some barrel control with ability to tighten swing later in count and get ball to opposite field. Impressive to fastballs, repeatedly driving them to center and as mentioned showing swing adjustability to the right side in two-strike counts. Recognition of and approach to breaking ball is an area of potential improvement.

7/24-7/27/18 - Underclass Tourney - Multiple reports from different scouts at tourney: Large frame with long legs and wide shoulders; physical build with present strength and space to continue to add onto strong frame. Quick, simple delivery starts to build momentum that comes attacking down hill before 3/4-release from quick, loose arm. FB was 86-88 with angle down through the zone and extra life when needed. Two plane slurve type breaking ball 69-72 with short tilt and ability to miss bats. Built to be a power pitcher and could easily see big jump in velocity as he continues to strengthen body. As a hitter, shows plus raw power all around the field with multiple extra base hits during the week. Stands tall with slightly open stance and even hands using leg lift to gather and stays behind ball through contact. 94 exit velocity during BP testing and runs well especially for size; 7.29 60-yd dash. /// Great physique. Can really swing it, open stance, looked to do damage each plate appearance. He can hit for power to all fields, absolutely a threat at the plate. Showed up as clutch with runners on base. He hit offspeed just as well as the fastball. Good mobility at first base and a big target. Can stretch for balls and dig them out. Knows where to be on certain situations and has good instincts.
7/18/18
Upperclass Tourney - Very projectable frame, broad shoulders and long levers, FB showed well topping at 88 consistent 86 with down hill tilt, sharp break to an 11-4 shaped slider 75-76 mph with command, looks to be a pretty conservatively projectable low 90s pitcher in the future in large part due to arm action being smooth and repeatable.
