8-21-16 Uncommitted, 6-foot-2, 225 pounds. Last time we saw Mansur his fastball sat at 80 mph, but he's about 15 pounds leaner now, and he pounded the strike zone with an 85 mph fastball. Big frame on the mound he could be a real diamond in the rough in our state. Curveball was sharp with 12/6 shape at 70 mph. Mansur has not thrown a lot of innings the last few years, so it's not out of the question to think he could reach upper 80's sooner then later.
2-28-16 A 6-foot-2, 240-pound right hand hitting 1B/RHP who ran 8.07 60. Balanced at the plate with a short stride for timing. Hands load back slightly and swing path is level to the ball. Good extension at contact and a strong lower body produced an 82 MPH exit velocity. In the field he shows good movement and anticipation on ground balls. He had good feet and transfer on the double play ball and showcased a 79 MPH arm. On the mound he stands tall and comes forward to start his motion. Good balance and drive to the plate. He lands in-line with the plate on his delivery and stays square through the pitch. Fastball touched 80 MPH and he added a 67 MPH curve with 11/5 break and a 71 MPH change.
1-25-15 6-foot-1, 220-pound right-handed third baseman/right-handed pitcher. Defensively, has a good frame for third base, throwing 78 mph across the diamond from 3rd, over the top arm action with accuracy. On the mound, utilizes a strong lower half, high ¾ arm slot. Max effort to the plate produces FB from 76-79. Slows arm a bit on 66-67 mph breaking ball with 12/6 shape that was also thrown for strikes. Hits from a tall, narrow stance, hands wrap back, utilizes a short stride to get lower half through the zone. Quick hands produce good power to the left side and an exit velocity of 78. Ran a 5.1 home to first.
