9/29/19

5-foot-10, 170-pound, average athletic frame, sloped shoulders, wiry strength, with room for added weight. A left-handed hitting middle infielder. At the plate, even feet at the shoulders, higher loose hands, extended back elbow. The swing is flat through the zone, builds momentum forward, small drift at times. The approach is gap to gap, creates backspin, driving the baseball with authority. Solid swings in game play, had a tee exit velocity of 88 mph,  baseball comes off the bat with ease. Ran a 7.56 sixty-yard dash, plays faster than his time. Defensively, shows to have some twitchy actions. The arm is clean, working out of a natural slot, clocked at 77 mph. Moves well to both sides, start and turns were performed correct. Look for him to hit at the next level.

Arm Velocity: 77 mph

2/17/19

5-foot-9, 156-pound, smaller, thin athletic frame, rounded shoulders, with room for future development. A two way player, at the plate, hands work freely through the hitting zone. Pre-pitch movement to them, small leg kick for timing, barrel is flat though the zone, and finishes at the shoulders. Slight collapse on the front side on contact, could stay behind the baseball a tick longer. The approach is more to the pull side, has the ability slap and spray it, second round of batting practice was very good. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 75 mph and ran a 7.87 sixty-yard dash. Defensively, worked out in the middle, arm was clocked at 72 mph, working out of a natural ¾ slot. The footwork was accurate, needs to pick tempo up a tick, turns and feeds had rhythm and timing to them. Off the mound, this right-thander, has a simple repeatable delivery, hands start and stay low, kick is athletic and tight to the body. The direction is inline, lead arm tucks early could lengthen a tick to get out front longer. The arm action has average length to it, working out of a higher ¾ slot, looks to work downhill. The fastball reached 76 mph, working down in the zone. The curveball is a quality pitch, proper spin and action, clocked at 68 mph, with depth to it. The changeup is still a work in progress, clocked at 70-71 mph. Pounded the zone, continued arm strengthening will aid in a jump in velocity.

At the plate, stance is even at the shoulders, hands are close the body, back elbow extended outward. The swing is down to up, barrel is in and out of the zone, quick could stay through the baseball longer. The approach is more middle of the field slapping the baseball from field to field. The lower half could be engaged slightly more, steps in with lead foot, resulting in getting the backside to transfer energy to frontside. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 78 mph and ran an 8.02 on a slower track. Defensively, arm was clocked at 64 mph, throws from a a ¾ slot, good touch and feel on all throws. Footwork is clean and accurate, smooth easy transfer into throwing arm. The hands and actions are soft and smooth. The arm strength needs to improve to stick on the left side of the infield. Off the mound, simple delivery, good direction is inline with the plate, arm action is clean. The fastball was clocked at 71-73 mph, located down in the zone to both sides of the plate.
