6-foot-2, 195-pound, large, wider athletic frame. The neck is long, shoulders are sloped, has plenty of room to fill out and put added weight on. A right-handed hitting catcher, at the plate the stance is even, wider than shoulder width, sits in a small crouch. The hands are loose at shoulder height, start closer to frame. For timing uses a simple small pickup and put down, more of a no stride approach. The swing is short to contact, hands stay inside the baseball, swing is more down to level to up. The approach is more middle to opposite, creates backspin to the baseball. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 85 mph, hard solid contact, moved well for a bigger kid, clocked at 4.57 from home to first. Defensively, throws from a higher slot from behind the plate. The arm was clocked at 64 mph with a pop time of 2.16-2.31. The setup is slightly side saddle, hands are soft on the catch. The feet could gain more ground in transfer and use the legs more, with more finish of throwing arm, will help in velocity and lowering pop time. The bat should play at the next level.
