7/17/19

5-foot-9, 170-pound, strong, thicker, athletic frame. Shoulders are sloped, put together well, lower half having strength to it. A two-way player, at the plate swings it from the left side. Drives the baseball from gap to gap, had a tee exit velocity of 79 mph and ran a 4.41 from home to first. The stance is even based, hands are loose at the shoulders. The swing is level through the zone, slightly cuts across. The lower half is under control, simple, small stride. More juice in there with gaining ground on stride. Defensively, threw 75 mph, arm working from a  3/4 slot, transfer is clean, gains ground, momentum to target. All throws on point, uphill at times shorter stride could lengthen. Off the mound, this left-hander works out of a natural 3/4 slot. The delivery is simple, hands start low work up with leg lift, slight coil and lands across body by a few inches. Hides the baseball well behind the frame, creating deception with swings and misses. The fastball was clocked at 68-70 mph. The breaking ball has a bigger, top to bottom break, clocked at 58-59 mph, thrown for strikes. Projects for me as more of an outfielder, potential to swing the bat at the next level.

Tee Exit Velocity: 79 mph
Arm Velocity: 75 mph
Home-First: 4.41

8/23/18

5-foot-9, 157-pound, smaller athletic frame. A well proportioned, neck is long, shoulders are squared off, has room for future development. A left-handed pitcher and worked out in outfield. Off the mound, pounds the zone with two pitches. The delivery is simple, arm action is longer on the back side, small pause at top of path. The direction is in line squares up on release and lives in the bottom part of the zone. The stride length is shorter, could lengthen a bit. The fastball reached 71 mph. The breaking ball is a good pitch, the spin and shape are correct, clocked at 63 mph, had depth to it. At the plate, feet are even at shoulder width, hands are loose and held above the letters. The lower half is under control, small pick up and put down with stride foot, transfers weight from backside to front. The swing is short, compact and stays through it till the finish, finishing with two hands,  flat through the zone, looks to stay from the middle to pull side. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 70 mph and ran a 7.72 sixty-yard dash. Defensively, solid prep steps, is under control when attacking the baseball, fields out front, works low and through the baseball. The transfer is clean, more of a shuffle of the feet. The arm works out of a ¾ slot, clocked at 73 mph, throws were on a line giving the receiver something to handle. Strength is a must will help in the overall development of the game.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.72
Exit Velocity: 70 MPH
Arm Velocity: 73 MPH

7/27/16

5-foot-5, 130-pound, thin athletic frame, shoulders are sloped, has plenty of room to fill out. A left-handed hitter, the stance is even and balanced, hands are close to his body, can handle the bat, looks to slap it all over the field. For timing gets his hands back and has a minimal stride. The path is down, level to up. The tee exit velocity was 64 mph. In game at bats were advanced for his age. Defensively, plays the outfield, prep steps were good and attacked the baseball well. The transfer is clean, could step through harder. The arm action was clean, was clocked at 63 mph. On the mound, this left-hander works out of a natural ¾ slot. The fastball was 62-64 mph, has some cut action to it. The curveball was 54-57 mph, was thrown for strikes. The second inning he cruised through the hitters. Strength is a must, will only be a freshman.
