5-foot-8, 140-pound, smaller thin athletic frame, showed to have some fast twitch actions to him. The actions and movements work smoothly. A right-handed hitting middle infielder, top tool is his legs, the sixty-yard dash was clocked at 7.19 and showed very good lateral speed. At the plate, hands start closer to the midsection of his frame and lower than shoulder width, with the bat in more of a vertical position. The feet are wider than shoulder width and open. For timing uses a larger toe tap, into the stride, which gives him more power to his swing. The swing is loose, level to up and finishes with two hands. The approach was more from middle to pull side, with a tee exit velocity of 79 mph, took a solid round of batting practice. Defensively, showed extremely well, the actions, flow and hands looked to be advanced. The prep steps, lead into working low to high and coming through the baseball. The arm is short and crisp, clocked at 74 mph, had good feel for all throws. The double play feed was smooth and on time. The promove was made with ease. The best we’ve seen him defensively, might be better suited for second long term, but did show the ability to defend from the left side.
Sixty-Yard:7.19
Exit Velocity: 79 mph
Arm Velocity: 74 mph
5-foot-8, 145-pound, average, thin athletic frame. The neck and arms are long has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed hitter, the stance is wider than shoulder width and is slightly open, with a small crouch. The hands are set at shoulder height, are loose and work freely across his chest. The approach is more pull, could stay through it longer. Took a solid round of BP, squaring one ball up after another. Defensively, showed solid actions and flow when fielding, feet and hands work well together. Fields the ball out front, works from the ground up, transfer is quick, gets glove to throwing hand with no wasted movement. The arm action is short, works out of natural ¾ slot, clocked at 70 mph, up a couple ticks from summer. Moves well to both sides of the ball, gets off the blocks quick and made the backhand play look easy. Improved from the summer, has life to his game, strength will help in his development, interesting follow.
Sixty-Yard Dash:7.50
Exit Velocity: 73 mph
8/18/16
5-foot-8, 145-pound, average athletic frame, shoulders are sloped, action and movements are loose, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed hitter, the stance is shoulder height, is slightly open and he gains ground with his stride. The swing is flat through the zone, finishes with two hands at shoulder height. The tee exit velocity was 71 mph, ran a 4.84 from home to first. In games swings were good, made contact in all at bats. The backside lower half collapse at times, needs to stay stronger on it. Defensively, the prep steps and feet are good, gets off the blocks ok, keeps them moving throughout. Fields the ball out front, hands are soft and transfer is clean with no hesitation. The arm was clocked at 68 mph across the diamond, needs to get stronger and quicker. Strength is must, overall mechanics and flow to his game is good for his age.
