7/12/16

6-foot, 150-pound, thin, long athletic frame, upper torso is long, with sloped shoulders, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed hitter, who had a very good workout. The stance is slightly wider and he stands tall with high hands. The hands are loose and really work, the path is level across his chest with a one handed finish. The tee exit velocity was 81 mph with life and whip out front. Times down the line were 4.45, has athletic kick, plays quicker than his times. In game swings were good, collected two hits and was able to showcase his legs. Drives the ball to both gaps. Defensively, plays both second and third, might be better suited for third down the road. The flow and footwork are good and hands work well with feet. The hands are soft, the arm works out of a ¾ slot. Clocked at 75 mph, across the diamond, had good carry with some touch. Double play feeds were good with good footwork. An athlete who has a chance to hit, high follow for me.

10/24/15
Second event for Jonathan, hits from the right side with a tee exit velocity at 81 mph. The swing looked shorter and had some pop in his hands. The stance is even, with more weight on his backside. Gets the foot down early, before he starts his path to the ball. Ran a 4.84 from home to first. During the game collected a double. In the field, shows good prep steps, could come get the ball a bit more and continue his momentum  towards his target, stands up, stay low and through. Can play both sides of the bag and footwork is advance when starting and finishing the double play. The arm action is short and clean, was 73 on the gun with much more in there.  Some easy fixes with reps and coaching, shows feel for the game, follow in high school.

7/28/15
At 6-foot, 150 pounds, has a lean body, with a good frame to add weight. At the plate hits from the right side, hands and elbow are set high, the base is wide. The tee exit velocity was 80, the hands work and the ball jumps off his bat. Time from home to first was 4.79. In the field, showed well, hands and feet work real well. The arm was 78 across the diamond with good carry and life to it. Footwork around the bag is short and quick, kept his body moving towards his target. Actions and mechanics are very sound strength is a must. Will be a guy to go see next spring.
