East-West Battle (July 2017)
Lean/athletic frame; LHH showed an easy stroke to all fields. Average and gap potential; CF-LF projection. Still available.
NY Games (June 25-27, 2017)
Athletic 6-foot, 175-pound infielder ran a 6.89/60, down slightly from 6.66 in March but still impresses with foot speed. Offensively - loose and fluid swing out of slightly upright stance, keeps bat on a level plane through the zone for an exit velocity of 85 MPH - up from 81 MPH in March; repeatable motion with some pre-pitch movement, comfortable driving ball to middle third of the field; increased lower body engagement will add to the velocity. Defensively - uses sound footwork to set up for outfield velocity of 76 MPH with an accurate arm. Smooth transfer with soft hands in the infield. Really stoodout in game action during the NYS Games, hit a HR off one of the top 2020 arms in the state.
3/7/17

6-foot, 165-pound, super athletic, fast twitch athlete. The hands, wrists and legs have speed and quickness to them. One of the better players around, is looking to prep a year, has tools to work with. The top tool are his legs, recorded event best 6.66 sixty-yard dash, has an easy kick and glides, no effort at all. A left-handed hitter, the stance is spread out, feet are even hands are loose at shoulder height. The bat starts flat, it's in a very good hitting position. For timing uses a simple controlled stride, hands stay back. The swing is flat through the zone, hands work freely, barrel has whip and life out front, finishes at shoulder height with one hand. The approach is to all fields, spray and slaps it the other way, with power to the pull side. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 81 mph, with more in there as he continues to get stronger. Defensively, can play all over the field, feet and hands work well together in the infield, works from the ground up and feet continue to move during transfer to target. The arm was clocked at 80 mph has plenty of strength from across the diamond. The slow roller pro move was made with athleticism, feeds and starts were good from both sides, projects more as second baseman in the infield. In the outfield, can cover ground, routes and angles are good, arm was clocked at 80 mph as well, gave the catcher something to handle, showed good touch on throws. Big time athlete, ability to handle the bat, typical top of the order type hitter and is versatile defensively.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 6.66

Exit Velocity: 81 mph

Arm Velocity: 80 mph

7/12/16

6-foot, 175-pound, athletic strong frame. The upper body has some strength, hands and forearms are strong. Offensively, hits from the left side, the stance is slightly open and a little wider, balanced and simple. The hands start in a good hitting position, just off his back shoulder. The path is level to and through the ball, controls the barrel and sprays it to all fields. Shows good pop to both gaps, the tee exit velocity was 81 with life and whip out front on contact. Defensively, plays up the middle better suited for second, could go to shortstop if needed. The prep steps and flow are good, fields the ball out front and shows the ability to start and finish the double play. The arm was clocked at 76 across the diamond, has average strength. Athleticism and his legs may be his best tool, ran a 4.22 down the line. Good looking left-handed middle guy who can handle the bat.

2/14/16

Second PBR event for Niko, had a solid showing. Hits from the left side, the stance is balanced, even and a little wider than shoulder width apart. Hands are loose and set just above the shoulders, relaxed. The path is simple, level through the zone. He has a small leg kick for timing, finishes the swing with one hand. Drives the ball to all fields, hits the ball where it's pitched. The tee exit velocity was 83 mph, ran a 7.03 60-yard dash, had a good kick. In the field, he shows solid hands and feet, fields the ball out front and transfer is clean quick. The arm was 75 mph, had good flight and carry, has more in there. Feet work well around the bag on both sides for the pivot. Could keep his moving a little more after throw, needs to stay down and stay through the ball more on slow roller. The frame is athletic, has sloped shoulders and movements are free and loose. As he continues to gain strength, his game should rise to another level.

7/28/15

Droukas showed real well in the field, hands are soft, fielded balls out front. The flow from catching and the transfer are very good. He made the backhands look easy. The arm is clean and had true carry to it. The arm strength was 77 across the diamond. Hits from the left side, the base is wide, hands work, he gets around a little. The bat speed is good, the exit velocity was 83. Showed well in the game had a couple hits. Speed is his best tool was 4.27 from home to first, his legs are really good. A definite follow for me, go see him in the spring.
