NY Games (June 25-27, 2017)
Athletic 6-0, 165-pound frame with room to grow, handles size well with balanced and clean movements, ran a 7.1/60. Offensively - exit velocity improved slightly from from 80 MPH in December to 84 MPH, further lower body engagement should add to that number in the future, maintains level bat plane through the zone, quick, strong hands, comfortable staying middle third of the field, gets consistent barrel contact. Defensively - soft hands, smooth transfer, quiet feet, comfortable getting low to the ground, accurate arm with an infield velocity of 81 MPH.
12/4/16
5-foot-11, 160-pound, physical athletic frame, shoulders are wide, with strength in his hands. A well proportioned athlete, still has room for future development. One of the better middle infielders I’ve seen in the 2018 class. Defensively, the actions are advanced, gets low to the ground and fields everything out front. The transfer is quick, gets the glove to throwing hand and continues to keep the feet moving throughout. The arm action is short and clean on the backside, baseball comes out of a high ¾ slot. The arm was clocked at 78 mph, has life, showed carry from deep in the 6-hole. The slow roller pro move is made with ease, good flow, stays through it. Offensively, hits from the right side, has a slightly open to even stance. The hands start in a good position, bat is flat on shoulder. The lower half is under control, has a small toe tap for timing, gains ground with stride foot. The swing path is level across his chest, with a one handed finish. The approach is to the middle of the field, sprayed it all over, hits the ball where it's pitched extremely well. The tee exit velocity was 80 mph, as he gets stronger that will jump. The sixty yard dash was recorded at 6.93 and a 7.0. Shows the ability to really handle the bat, big time follow for me, get out and see him early in the spring, will be off the board at some point.
7/12/16
5-foot-11, 150-pound, average athletic frame, shoulders are sloped and he has plenty of room to fill out. One of the better players in the class of 2018 to attend this event, had an impressive workout. Defensively, plays up the middle, does everything very well. Prep steps are good, gets around balls, works from the ground up, with fielding balls out front. The hands and feet work well together, keeps his feet moving throughout. The arm action is clean and throws from a natural ¾ slot, arm was clocked at 74 mph. Feeds around the bag and pro move slow roller looked sharp. Offensively, hits from the right side, the stance is balanced, slightly open and hands are loose at shoulder height. The hands get back and the lower half is under control. The path is flat through the zone, with some life in his finish. The tee exit velocity was 85 mph and ran an easy 4.38 down the line. High follow, a slick fielding infielder who can handle the bat.
