6/28/17

6-foot-1, 180-pound, long, lengthy, wiry strong athlete. The frame is well proportioned, neck is long, shoulders are rounded, has plenty of room to fill out and add strength and mass. A right-handed hitting catcher, who showed well on both sides of the field. At the plate, the stance is even, hands are set at shoulder height, bats starts in a good position. For timing uses a longer stride, keeps hands back and up. The swing is flat through the zone, finishes it with two-hands just below shoulder height. Looks to finish early, could stay through it longer, and finish higher, might help with creating more lift to it. Shows power potential, hands have strength and when on time, approach is more line drive. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 85 mph, with a ton more in there, if he can stay through it longer. Ran the sixty-yard dash ok at 7.42, is athletic for a catcher. Defensively, threw the baseball well from behind the dish, feet and hands work well together, arm action is short and crisp, with good strength. The arm is clean and works out of a natural ¾ slot. Pop times were at 2.19-2.32, throws were on proper side of bag, with plenty of downhill carry to them. The feet are quick and gain ground during transfer. Good looking kid, needs game experience, good follow.

Sixty-Yard:7.42

Exit Velocity: 85 mph

3/7/17

6-foot, 165-pound a long, lengthy athletic frame. The shoulders are squared off, neck is long, has plenty of room for future development. A right-handed hitting catcher, the arm action is super clean, whippy, short on the backside, clocked at 69 mph, has more in the tank as he gets stronger. Pop times of 2.24-2.32, throws were on or close to the bag. The setup is balanced behind the plate, is relaxed and flexible. The feet get inline on the transfer, glove side can get closed up more, getting glove to throwing hand will quicken times. At the plate, hits from the right side, stance is wider, feet are inline, hands are loose at shoulder height. The path to the ball needs to be more direct, hands cast early at times. The approach is more to the pull side, try to keep the hands inside the baseball more, with barrel staying in the hitting zone longer. The hands need some separation from the body during the load and timing. The lower half is under control, gains ground with stride foot. Strength is a must, look for the arm to jump from behind the plate.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.50

Exit Velocity: 83 mph

Arm Velocity: 73mph

3/1/17 6-foot, 165-pound, long, lengthy athletic frame, back is wide, shoulders are squared off, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed hitter, the stance is even feet are shoulder width apart. The hands are set at shoulder height, are relaxed, bats in a good starting position. For timing, uses a longer straight stride, needs to get some separation with hands from the body. The swing is level to up, approach is more to the pull side, could let the ball travel longer. Defensively, is a large frame to throw to behind the plate. The setup is balanced, feet are balanced, looks to be relaxed and flexible. The hands are soft, could be stronger keeping the pitch in the zone. The feet are very quick, right foot replaces left foot, glove to hand could be higher in transfer, will help with pop times. The arm is clean, short, was clocked at 69 mph with more in there, stay through release point, don't slow arm down. Long athletic young catcher, someone to follow.
