Austin Gilbert: C/3B, (2027) Wamogo Regional, CT. 5-foot-7, 130-pound athletic proportional build. Solid projectable in the box, Gilbert's best exit velocity was 73 mph. (56.4 mph bat speed average). (17.7 mph hand speed average). Starts in a tall athletic stance with a rhythmic load, then uses a controlled small leg kick. Bat speed is quick, exhibits a loose level swing plane and high finish. Found some barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap line drive approach. Behind the plate, he made throws to second at velocities up to 62 mph; has soft hands, a clean transfer, and developing feet. recorded pop times of 2.60-2.75. Narrow athletic setup with some flexibility. Using a loose arm action, showed consistent accuracy to the bag from a ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 8.47.
