Charran Ward: OF/3B, (2027) East Hartford, CT. 162-pound solid strong frame. Solid projectable in the box, the hitter had an exit velocity of 84 mph. (65.5 mph bat speed average). (18.7 mph hand speed average). Begins in an athletic balanced stance with a tight compact load, then uses a short controlled stride. Had above average bat speed, short simple swing plane and level front foot finish. During his round he produced loud contact and found some barrels. Up the middle approach. Above average from the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 74 mph; has a twitchy exchange, athletic quick feet, and soft hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a high ¾ slot and a long loose arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the base. Projectable on the mound, showed developing arm speed, he had a long loose arm action with a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive feel type pitcher who shows easy effort. During his delivery balance point is tall with in line shoulders. Lands open and soft with a clean finish. Threw his fastball 69-70 mph; has a control down in the zone that shows straight movement. (Max spin 1919; Avg 1793). His changeup (64-65) had fading action and arm side control. His 2/8 slider (62-63) shows early action and glove side control. (Max spin 1624; Avg 1552).
