3/11/21

Mercer commit. 6-foot-1, 160-pound left-handed pitcher, wide frame, lots of filling out left to do, high pitch ability. Arm action is short and clean to a low ¾ slot, repeatable, hides ball well on back-side. Quick drop and drive delivery. Tossed a gem against Blessed Trinity, going seven shutout innings. Fastball sat 80-83, touched 84, running action, used to both sides of the plate. Curveball, 68-72, manipulated shape between 1/7 and sweeping, feel. Changeup, 70. Feel for all three pitches, controlled the zone.

3/09/20

Mercer commit. 6-foot-1, 160-pound left-handed hitting two-way prospect, a primary pitcher, Cosper started at first base and later moved to the outfield vs. Hebron Christian. At the plate, crouching setup, hands load back and barrel becomes vertical, short strides, good balance. Takes a middle approach with the ability and strength to drive balls gap-to-gap. Nearly walked it off vs. Hebron Christian with a two-out two run home run over the right field fence, but the ball hit off the top of the wall, leading to an RBI double that tied up the game. Made a huge diving catch in the sixth inning, doubling off the runner at second base, Hebron Chrisitan would have extended their lead to two runs had he not.

2/14/20

Mercer commit. 6-foot-1, 160-pound left-handed pitcher, athletic, proportional build, filling out his lower half with strength. Arm works short and quick to a ¾ slot, hides ball extremely well on the back-side, batter gets their first look at the ball as it is released. Works at an ultra quick pace, wastes no time getting the signs and then delivering the ball. Highly deceptive pitcher. Fastball sat 83-85 early on, displayed running action. Changeup, sinking action, used sparingly, came in at 76. Did not offer up any breaking balls, mainly relied on fastball and its action, but has a slider in his arsenal.

9/18/19

6-foot-1, 160 pound left-handed pitcher, lean, lanky frame. Approaches the game in a business like manner, no emotion, gets the ball and attacks. Short arm action with a low draw, gets out front quickly to a ¾ slot. Little effort in drop and drive delivery. Fastball sat 81-83, flashed short run, enough to induce weak contact. Slider, short later movement, 70-72. Highly competitive southpaw, does not back down.
