6/12/18: Strong build 2019 3B, hits from the right side. Slightly open setup in the box, short stride to contact point. Showed off pull side pop in bat and ability to lift ones oppo. Bat speed was quick through the zone with a high finish. In the field hands and footwork were average, did play through the baseball and kept momentum forward. Arm is above average and showed carry across the diamond at 89.

 
9/24/17:  6-foot-1, 200 pound right-handed pitcher was up to 83 with the fastball, sitting 80-82.  Throws from a high 3/4 slot with above average wrist speed.  Long arm action with choppy rhythm and some effort.  Falls off towards first base side.  Works around his front leg.  Breaking ball has downer action with gradual break.  Missed up often with the curveball.  Offensively, he hits from a balanced setup and toe taps into long stride.  Average bat speed with a short, levels wing.  Gap to gap type power.  High exit velocity of 84mph.  Defensively, Koontz made throws with carry across the infield topping at 82.  Average hands and flat footwork.  Long exchange into release.

6/7/17: 6-foot-2, 204 pounds.  Athletic setup in the box, smooth load.  Big leg trigger/toe tap for timing.  Above average bat speed, long path.  Overall good approach at the plate.  Showed present power to his pull-side.  High exit velocity of 88 mph.  Defensively, average-to-hard hands, heavy feet.  Exchange was clean, but long.  Long arm action, produced some carry on his throws at 78 mph.  Ran a 7.93-60. PITCHING: pitches from a shorter arm action, average arm speed. Inward turn at the top of his delivery.  Has some effort in the delivery with some rhythm.  Falls off towards 3B side, finishes upright.  Fastball has slight run at 78-79 T80.  Breaking ball flashed occasional depth with 10/4-11/5 shape.
