12/3/16:  The 6-foot-1, 180 pound right-handed pitches with a inward turn and high 3/4 arm slot.  Showcased some rhythm and good direction.  Fastball is flat and sits 76-78, touching 79.  Breaking ball has early, gradual break at 60-61.  Change-up has some armside run and fade.  Offensively, he hits from an open crouch.  Hands drop in his load with a slight leg kick.  Tends to pull off.  Bat speed is average.  High exit velocity of 73.  Defensively, hands are sure with flat footwork.  Exchange is long and tends to get on heels.  Arm action is loose.  Throws topped at 73.

3/14/15: Dawson features a balanced, open stance at the plate.  He has a leg kick as hands drop.  He has above average bat speed and a good approach.  He produced several line drives (exit velo of 74mph) with a level swing.   On the mound, Dawson throws overtop with long arm action.  He has good balance and easy effort throughout his delivery.  His best fastball was 67mph.  His arm speed will need to increase as he matures.  He has a CB with a gradual break at an 11/5 angle.  His CH features sink to arm side.   At times, he slows his arm speed for his off-speed pitches.   Defensively, he will need to quicken his feet and soften hands as he matures.  His throws were accurate with above average arm strength.
