3/30/18 Spring Scout Blog: 6-foot, 160 pound shortstop hit a grand slam to left field in the first inning of the conference game versus Avon.  Twitchy hands showing improved bat speed and swing plane.  Created some lift and the ball got up into the wind for a quick exit of the ballpark.  Still tends to dive at times, creating a break in rhythm.  Defensively, Stout continues to impress with soft hands and a quick release.  Has the ability to make the tough play.  Strong arm across.  Was up to 89 in our Pre-Season All State Showcase this Winter.
2/17/18:  6-foot, 160 pound infielder showcased soft hands with a clean transfer.  Plays through the ball.  Quick feet, moves well laterally.  Strong arm.  Throws topped 89 across.  Hits from a balanced, slightly open setup.  Hands drop in load, rushed tempo.  Over rotation of the lower half.  Slightly uphill path to contact.  High exit velocity of 85.  On the mound, Stout has a quick tempo with level shoulders.  Short, fast arm circle.  Lands squared, finishes upright.  Erratic command.  Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with gradual break, inconsistent at times.   Quick twitch athlete.  Ran a 7.06 60 yard dash.

12/16/17:  6-foot, 160 pound shortstop displayed quick footwork and soft hands up the middle.  Attacks the baseball with efficient angles.  Showed the ability to make throws from all arm slots.  Accurate throws had carry across infield.  High velocity of 87 across.  Right-handed hitter loads back with a leg kick used as a timing trigger.  Compact swing, lacks extension post-contact.  Line drive approach.  Average balance, over rotates at times.  High exit velocity  of 83mph.

3/29/17 Game Notes: 5-foot-10 150 pound shortstop showcased sure hands with good feel for the position.  Footwork is fluid with a clean, quick transfer.  Arm action is short with accurate throws.  In the box, Stout has tall, athletic setup.  Hands drop in the load.  Path is long with average bat speed.  Should add bat speed as he fills in.  He went 1-3 with 2 strikeouts today.

2/25/17:  The 5-foot-10, 150 pound infielder displays quick footwork with above average hands up the middle.  Has a good feel for the position and makes the routine play look easy.  Plays through the ball well.  Long arm action with throws topping out at 84mph.  In the box, open setup with a leg kick, back hand load and slight arm bar.  Long bat path with little extension post contact.  Average bat speed.   Produced some hard contact.
