6/20/17 - Pierce is a 6-foot-4 215-pound right-handed hitting first baseman and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class.  He ran a 7.75 60 and a 5.25 home to first.  He has a 77 mph exit velo. At the plate, starts with tall stance, leg kick, aggressive hands, level path through extension, hard contact gap-to-gap during batting practice, has feel for the barrel.  On the infield, 77 mph positional velo, moves well to the ball, quick footwork and quick catch and throw, three quarters release, feet and hands work together on time, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Pierce’s fastball works 76-77 mph, touches 80 mph, over the top release, has some downhill tilt, arm works, body stays under control during delivery, slight rotation at balance point, in line down the mound, athletic finish, breaking ball has occasional sharpness, 11-to-5 action, 70-71 mph, change up at 62-63 mph, some with arm side release and depth, works bottom of zone with all pitches, heavy ball.
