6/20/17

5-foot-10, 170-pound, average athletic frame, shoulders are rounded, has plenty of room to fill out and put added weight on. A right-handed hitter, stance is simple and balanced, feet are slightly wider than shoulder width, with the front foot being slightly open. The hands are loose set just above the back shoulder, setup of the bat is in a good starting position. For timing uses a small controlled kick, gets loaded up, hands get back and gains ground with the stride. The swing is level to up, shows a level plane, finishes with two hands. The approach is line drive after line drive to the pull side. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 78 mph, with a time down the line at 4.84. The batting practice rounds were good and made solid contact in game play. Defensively, works from the ground up, has good flow into and through the baseball. The hands look to be soft, arm action is short, works out of a higher ¾ slot. Throws had good touch and was clocked at 72 mph. The footwork was good around the bag from both sides, might transition more as a second baseman down the road.

Home - First: 4.84

Exit Velocity: 78 mph

Arm Velocity: 72 mph

5-foot-10, 170-pound, average athletic frame, has plenty of room for future development. A right-handed hitter, the stance is even, the bat is flat just above his shoulders. For timing has a small leg kick, lower half is under control and gains ground with stride. The swing is level through the zone, finishes with two hands, could stay through it a little more. The tee exit velocity was 70 mph and ran a 4.90 from home to first. In game swings were good, made solid contact in all at bats. Defensively, the setup is balanced behind the plate, feet are shoulder width and he sits on the flats of his feet. The transfer is short and quick along with throw action. The arm was clocked at 71 mph and pop time was 2.13-2.22. In game blocking and receiving was good, likes to be back there and takes pride in his craft. Someone to follow, has some catch and throw skills.
