1/26/20

5-foot-8, 170-pound, stronger, thick athletic frame. The hands and wrists have good strength to them. A two-way player, at the plate, setup is balanced, even feet, loose relaxed hands at the shoulders, bat starting in a flat position.  The lower half is under control, uses the legs well, sits in a small crouch. The swing is flat through the zone, stays through it, showed hard contact in rounds of batting practice. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 82 mph and ran a 4.60 from home to 1st. Defensively, threw 67 mph across the diamond, hands are soft out front working low to the ground. The starts and turns were performed correct, moves well to the backhand side. Off the mound, has a quick tempo delivery, direction is inline, shorter stride, gets on top and works downhill. The arm action is super short and clean on the backside, baseball is hidden behind the frame, working out of a natural 3/4 slot. The fastball touched 74 mph, living in the bottom part of the zone, with some arm side action. The changeup is an above average pitch, comes out of the hand well, looking like a fastball, clocked at 65-66 mph. The breaking pitch was clocked at 54-61 mph, bigger break, slider was thrown harder at 60-61 mph. Threw all pitches for strikes.

Tee Exit Velocity: 80 mph

Arm Velocity: 67 mph

Home to 1st: 4.60

1/27/19

Body type: 5-foot-8, 190-pound, thick strong, wide back, athletic frame, already filling out, strength throughout.
Hit: A right-handed hitter, open to even stance, hands are set lower. The swing is flat, gets around it at times, needs more separation. Barrel has life out front on contact, baseball comes off ok.
Power: Tee exit velocity of 81 mph, shows to have gap power to pull side.
Offensive Production: More of middle of the linuep guy, will need to continue to work on driving the ball opposite, keeping hands inside the baseball.
Run: Ran the sixty-yard dash in 8.05.
Field: Showed clean feet, gains ground, keeps feet moving throughout, hands are sft out front. Could soften a tick on the backhand play. The feeds and starts from third starting double were smooth, showed clean action on slow roller.
Arm: Arm was clocked at 66 mph, from a higher slot.
Pitching Delivery/Mechanical: A right-handed pitcher, hands start low work up with leg raise, could stay taller on back side, direction is inline, lead arm could stay tracked longer.
Fastball: Fastball was clocked at 70-73 mph, thrown for both sides, down in the zone.
Curveball: Showed good tilt on breaking ball, spin was correct, with depth to it, clocked at 58-59 mph, could throw it with more fastball hand speed.
Changeup: The changeup was thrown for strikes, clocked at 59-65 mph, had down action to arm side.
Pitch-ability: Threw all three pitches for strikes, worked quick. Will need to continue to refine delivery.
Future Role: At this point is more of a bullpen arm, look for him to continue to be a two way player, time will tell which way he goes.
