Henry Van Faasen: RHP/SS, (2027) Bishop Fenwick, MA. 5-foot-9, 140-pound lean athletic build. Capable and projectable during batting practice, Van Faasen had a max exit velocity of 81 mph. (57.5 mph bat speed average). (16.4 mph hand speed average). Starts in a narrow balanced stance with a controlled load, then uses a small leg kick. Has a loose swing plane, developing bat speed and level finish. Through the round he found some barrels with some loud contact. Line drive approach. Capable while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 75 mph; had developing soft hands, a natural exchange, and developing consistent footwork. Fielded the ball out front with developing athletic movement laterally. Showed consistent accuracy to the base and a high ¾ slot. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.65. Projectable on the mound, showed an over-the-top arm angle and a loose consistent arm action with developing arm speed. Feel type pitcher and showed some effort. Showed consistent balance point with in line shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Sat with his fastball at 75-76 mph; shows running sinking action and control arm side around the zone. (Max spin 1940; Avg 1880). Shows glove side around the zone command and sweeping action on his curveball (65-66). (Max spin 2192; Avg 2168). His changeup (69-70) has arm side control and fading action.
