Matthew Friedland: LHP/1B, (2026) Auburn, MA. 5-foot-9, 175-pound athletic lean frame. Projectable and capable during batting practice, the left-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 82 mph. (61.9 mph bat speed average). (17.4 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced wide stance with a tight load, then used a short stride. Bat speed was developing, displayed a flat loose swing plane and level finish. He produced loud contact and found some barrels. Line drive approach. Capable in the infield, displayed a velocity of 69 mph; showed a natural exchange, developing consistent feet, and developing soft hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were developing. Showed a consistent arm action and a high ¾ slot. Clocked a 60 time of 8.59 at the event. Projectable and capable on the mound, used a consistent arm action and a high ¾ arm angle while showing developing arm speed. Feel type pitcher who shows some effort. Tall balance point with in line shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 69-70 mph; showed command arm side around the zone and running action. (Max spin 1779; Avg 1608). His curveball (53-55) has sweeping action and glove side control. (Max spin 1565; Avg 1545). He has a straight changeup (61-62).
